Dutch classic youngtimer built from scrap ...

Re:

These are beautiful frames, fantastic paintwork and hard-to-find decals! The final result will make it all worth while.

I have a similar Gazelle where the slot for the FD on the brazed fitting would not allow me to keep the FD aligned as I did the final tightening. I tried curved washers, Shimano and Campag, you name it, but always the same result. In the end I filed what looks like a key hole shape in the slot and it worked perfectly. The alternative would have been to try and bend the braze on marginally into the correct alignment and I decided that was a modification too far. The other slight oddity was that someone had sawn off the chain peg on the rear stay, can't see why anyone would do that.

Good project

I agree, those braze-ons looks nicer than tehy are in practice...

I started this thread without knowledge of the result of the restoration and here the miraculous recovery ... my Dutch jumping animal is back in the paddock ... after a cosmetic surgeon treatment - almost like nearly perfect, right?

Here with a pair of wheels and the Shimano DURA ACE SP-7400-B seat post for 1st pics

Nice job done., When you are in the neighbourhead of the land of birth of your bike, come and get the head I showed earlier.... :)

Ik neem het op je woord - ik ben gevestigd in de Nederrijn en regelmatig op Gazeldag

... natuurlijk met de voltooide fiets

Groeten Thomas

Looking really good - these Gazelles always had good colourways and yours is looking superb.

Where did you get the decals - I need a set for a similar bike.

Dura Ace is the way to go …

no decals or sticker - direkt painted with templates under clear coat. Stickers are too thick and apply too much to the paint ... only water slides under clear coat may be suitable eventually

My knowledge ist that TVM-Bison Gazelle are not available within the www.
