dura ace query

well ive been out of the road game for so long and just getting back into it.....so i have a question about dura ace groupset.

i currently ride a 10spd set up with a mixture of 105/ultegra components but i would like to upgrade these to all dura ace....

i like the look of the 7700 range but depending where i read, some say it is a 9 speed set up some say it will work with 10 spd.

as im aiming to replace a part at a time, i.e. deralliers, sti shifters, chainset etc, i need to know they will all work as long as they are all 7700...

any clarification would be appreciated so i know im gonna be ok...

My 7700 is 9 speed. You could use the front and rear mechs and chainset but you would need 10 speed shifters and cassette, 7800 upwards I believe. 10 speed chain too.

As far as I'm aware it'll be fine, I don't think you have the incompatibility of the old 7400 with other parts of the same era.

If you do have any compatibility issues it would only likely to be between shifters and mechs everything else will be fine for sure.
