Aha, that makes sense. In fact, because most of my riding is done on a more modern bike, shifting is far from second nature on this bike, added to which, having just 14 ratios to chose from and a fairly limited range I'm using the front changer a lot more than I would usually. A couple of times this afternoon I found myself reaching through the frame with my right hand to shift front cogs and telling myself off afterwards! Nice to know that it's intended to be done that way.Sounds like you've got it. The lever will not sit parallel to the DT, but slightly above it - it's designed like this so that it's easier to front shift with your right hand
Ah yes, it wont be parallel - just double checked my daily ride. it should sit where gear 2 is on the drive side when pushed down but spring up a few mm when let go. I can get some photos if you still can't get it 100% workingOk so I did this and it kind of works. The stop is now at the front of the lever travel, although not with the lever parallel to the downtube. Nevertheless it's a better solution than I had before and has the added bonus that the extra tension in the lever spring also helps prevent the lever slopping forward a bit. Thanks
All good thanks. Think it's working as it should be. Thanks for the advice on setup.Ah yes, it wont be parallel - just double checked my daily ride. it should sit where gear 2 is on the drive side when pushed down but spring up a few mm when let go.
