Sold Duell Columbus TSX 2000 LARGE!

Sbims

Dirt Disciple
Almost 10 yrs ago I was continuously pestering the owner of a vintage bike shop for large frames, eventually he came across this lovely Duell and as I'd just quit my job i was a little short on funds. I was desperate to get it as nice, large vintage frames didn't come up that often so he said i could work in his shop and pay the frame off. I became the "saturday boy" doing servicing and tyre changes until my debt was clear. hahah.
Anyway, I LOVE bicycles, but I don't really cycle other than to get around. It seems a shame to have something so nice just gathering dust, besides i have baby number 2 on the way, our flat is not getting any bigger and I need to raise some funds for a new double buggy... time to let it go to someone who'll actually use it or at least love it much as i do.

Duell Columbus TSX 2000 (Mid 90's i think)
ST 61 c-t
TT 57.5 c-c

- Columbus TSX tubing
- Cinelli spoiler bb shell
- Chromed driveside chainstay and drop outs
- race number mount under toptube
- Seattube 61cm c-t
- Toptube 57.5cm c-c
- Rear spacing 128mm
- Dura Ace 7700 flight deck groupset with NJS seat post*
- Mavic open S.U.P. CD ceramic wheels on 7700 hubs
- Cinelli Bar and Stem (sadly not too sure what these are)

It has a load of really nice details on it 'Jan van Dalen' autograph on toptube and engraved on top bottom bracket shell. 'D' engravings on top crown, and stay caps (which are beautiful quilled with shot in chrome stay Chefs kiss!) All engravings enameled.

Serial# 21389

It is a used frame in good condition. You can expect a couple chips, but nothing severe cosmetic and of course nothing structural. There is some flaking on the front ring, not entirely sure why.
*The tube and seat post clamp have become unbonded, which means it swivels (ugh). My plan was to rebond it but I couldn't figure out how to get it apart, and now the time for tinkering is limited to renovating the flat lol.

I'm looking for £600

I'm East London based so if anyone's interested you can come and see. I will post but i'd have to find out cost for doing so. I've got more photo's if you need them, but please bare with me as i've got a small human and and another on the way so things are kinda hectic!

Very nice, indeed. The stem is a Cinelli XA one, by the way. Good luck with the sale - I think you've priced it very well for proper pro-level bike.

Thank you, I’m constantly having pangs of “am I doing the right thing?” 🫠 …But we do need a double buggy so I have to remain strong lol.

It looks so charming. How can I get the additional photos you have mentioned. Also, where are you particularly based in East London in case I come and see? Thanks.
