What do some downtube barrel adjusters on one side have a leaver instead of a barrel?

Matt

They are nigh-on impossible to adjust when riding with the conventional barrel type. The lever is definitely easier.

Left hand = Lever for trim adjustment of front mech.
Right hand = barrel for fine adjustment of rear mech.

According to a shimano tech about 20 years ago!

I think mine are the other way round which did puzzle me - I'll post a photo later.

Agreed, I run mine the other way, just to give the indexing a little tiddle if necessary. There again I have Campag so there is never a front mech trim issue anyway.

Actually, thinking about it, i'm not even sure which way round mine are. I've not ridden a bike with them on since the summer. And not had to adjust gears on a bike with them fitted for probably ~3 years. You've got me doubting my own memory now!

And I'm wrong, Right hand (rear) has the clicky lever.

Bugger.

What else have i forgotten.

To use the shift key when typing a question mark? :D
