A bump + Pix + info
The literature indicates that Don didn't actually build many frames, but used subcontractors. I did find info that Stan Pike built many of Don's frames, however, the format of those is 14XXXX which is slightly different from this one.
Hi folks,
I'm a crazy Yank that likes vintage English road bikes. Currently own two Holdsworths (a 64 Typhoon & a 76 Mistral) and a 1966 Eddie Soens. I've been working with forum member, biggs682, on acquring a Don Farrell frameset. It has a Don Farrell head badge, but the rest of the labeling is pretty rough. The serial number appears to be: 540414 which doesn't match those built by Don Pike. There is also a "5454" label on the frame. This and the frame's measurements indicates that it's a 54cm square frame.
I may be able to add some pictures if needed. Any info will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks and regards,
Van
