Dog_boy’s 2002 Gary Fisher supercal 29er

So sick, love all of the build-in-progress photos. What do you think is max tire clearance? Looks like those UDs are pretty tight, at least in the rear.

Tire clearance is around 7-8mm in the chain stays. It’s been fine except for one very muddy winter ride through clay and dead grass haha

No progress on painting. I’ve been riding it too much to be motivated to take it all apart and bring it down to the powder coat shop. In the mean time, I’ve built a 2010’s alu road bike, a bike for my girlfriend, and a new full sus xc bike. But I picked up these 29er forks to rebuild for the Gary fisher Curious how it will feel with some front sus. IMG_1764.webp

hard to find the 29er forks for rim brakes. No discs ever on this bike! I also have an old set of white brothers BW .8 29er forks for it, but their rebuild process is a little more daunting.

Some day I want to make a custom steel frame rim brake 29er and fabricate some bontrager/switchblade/gatorblade composite forks for it like Paul Brodie made for his woznot.

Frank The Welder maybe?

Ron Of Many Names has made no secret of this bike as much being influenced by Fisher and Yeti as much as S- Works. And Frank builds the framesets so may even have something in stock?
