Does anybody else go out riding with their Dog

i like reubens pics.

the before and after pictures of the dog :).

hes totally exhausted afterwards with a smile on his face :)

I used to take my mums dog (bearded collie cross/heinz 57) out for a walk, me on my bike. Using an extending lead he would pull me along on my bike as we headed out on the walk, on the way back in he'd be lagging behind so I pootled along :D
Sometimes got some strange looks from folk, but tbh it was a good way for him to get a proper run out, I could have walked him for 20miles and he still wouldn't have been tired, but a few miles with me on the bike and he was a tired but happy pooch...

Just try leaving him at home!

Thats a nice Lakey/fell mix, looks like a Parkes or Middleton bred dog (could be Cowen)
I've no idea what line Louis is. We got him from some travellers down in Sussex when we went to buy a car...
He was a pushy little bugger, totally fearless - still is, to the point of stupidity, yet is a perfect gent! He loves everyone and everything, except rugger bugger labradors, and has never caught a thing in his life, except a myxied baby bunny, which he let go...
Flo though, is the supreme hunter. She lived feral, alone, as a pup , and got quite fat as a result.
And still is...

Thx for the pic's fella, the white bodied dog looks to have plenty of northern blood in it (not everything thats white is a russell).
If you've not already got some...then a bottle of apple cider vinegar will work wonders for 'em (and you and your family for that matter), only a couple of £ from the health shop....thimble full in the drink every 3rd day....ball of wool ;) .

This one hunts a bit, he ate whole (1 big gulp) the first 5 rats he collared (then looked at me as if to say what rat?), the 6th got away into a canal and underestimated his under water swimming prowess...

Somewhere between 6 and 7 mph is where a 10/16inch dog changes from fast forward walk into a trot...anything after that pace will not stand the dog well.

Great pics! The one with your nipper is a classic!
I hear what you're saying about the pace.
I'm (still  ) recovering from heart surgery, and singlespeeding means he's usually waiting for me. I'll keep an eye on it though.

ACV on my chips hasn't done anything for my hairline...

A lb off Flo may well be worth a further 18months on her life expectancy ;)

Table spoon in a mug of hot water means you're not reliant on chips= good ticker+feather-cut ;)

Take care fella.

Trailers

FORGET THIS BOGUS SELLER, ITS BEEN REMOVED

I've been looking for a dog trailer for a while, our Lab pup has no training to run along yet, they seem rather expensive as I don;t know how he'd get on with it.

But, just spied these on Ebay, usually about £65. The seller is 0 rated and they're cheap, postage rate is weird too. But, with PayPal protection I thought it worth a punt:

stewlewis beware the weight there heavy,

they dont ride with me as much anymore because one has very bad hips but we used to cover 15+ miles at there pace and they loved it ,Ollie can manage about 5 miles now(walking pace) untill he shows signs of pain and benjy is more interested in the geese and rabbits than the run ,still there both nearly 7 yrs now

Way back, I used to ride with a collie running alongside and it staring back at me to speed up on the steep rocky bits in the lake district. But has anyone ever took their cat out on a ride ?

A bike I used once had a front pannier and in the pannier bag, I had my cat in a draw string bag.
