Does any know about Dave Lloyd lugged frames?

I have just picked up an (I presume) 80's Dave Lloyd frameset.

Its lugged but theres no tubeset sticker.

I understand they were made by Argos cycles for a time?

All I can find is pictures of lovely fillet brazed 90's frames......this has trad lugs though.

Anyone got any info - is it a decent frame? Worth repainting and building?

Here is a pic:

Any ideas? Will the frame number give more info?

Looks later to my eyes, and a different builder perhaps than the one on this page: http://hilarystone.com/frameset6.html

126mm dropouts

Cheers.

Dave Lloyd had a decent sized shop in Bebbington, The Wirral and advertised regularly in Cycling. Dave Lloyd himself was on the Raleigh Pro continental team in its heyday. From what I recall he moved buisness briefly to Bromborough area, then finally moved to Neston concentrating on his framebuilding where he turned out many of the fillet braized Concept 90 frames. I belive Dave later became a coach at Manchester Veledrome. Dave was a well known spectacle for turning in winning times in the hilly 48 time trial starting from Llangollen over Horseshoe to Ruthin,Cerrygydridion,Corwen and back.
No doubt others can update this more acurately but every little helps.

I am not sure who used to build Dave's frames whether it was Argos or not. Some of them were known to be too light and suffered breakage.I have has a couple but they were so rusty that the tobes had rotted through which was a great shame they.THe lugged one's I had were Reynolds 531 but I know Dave was a certified reynolds 753 builder and there are a lot nice 753 frames out there.I know Harry Quinn used to supply to the trade but I don't know if there is any connection.
