DMR Trailstar, Mk1 I believe.

Hi all

I have just moved into my own house and my mum is having a clear out, she sent me these pics earlier, now, I bought this probably 8-10 years ago, and have never even opened the box it came in. I believe it is a Mk1, can anyone tell me.

My next couple of questions are, do you know for certain they run a 1 1/8 fork? I am looking a more modern fork, 100mm to 120mm travel. Are the disc brake mounts standard size and Yellow or White with original decals, what do you think?

Any help and input would be well received.

Not sure if this is of any help to you but I had an early original Trialstar but it was a lot older than this if it is 8-10 years old. I got mine around 2005 I think, making it 17 years old. I can confirm mine had a 1 1/8 and standard disc brake mounts. It also had reversible v brake mounts so you could run it with 24 or 26 wheels. Can't see these in your photos so it may be a different version to the one you have.

What forks should I go with, I have looked at some rigid forks, but not sure yet.

Depends on what axle you'd like to be honest..
For rigid, have you looked at Identiti Rebates? Few different lengths and axle options. Very strong and decently popular with the street/DJ crowd. Maybe a bit stiff for xc use if thats your thing though.
Suspension, straight steerer 26" forks are sadly now pretty much the realm of dirt jump forks. P sure Manitou do the Circus with a straight steerer, but for max old-school cred some older Marzocchi Bomber DJ or Rockshox Argyle or Totem would be sick if you can get hold of some? Maybe look at older Fox forks too? Again popular at my local.

Either way might be worth sorting out some wheels before the fork, saves you messing around with adapting the hub for a different axle... good luck though, enjoy, sick frame would love to see it built up

I have looked at rebates, they are in the list, and I have looked at fox 32’s 100mm, they are also on the cards, I think If I run a thru axle, it will give me a lot of options, not sure if there are still wheels with standard bolt through about.

I’m going to try to get it done by the end of May, it is going for a respray, I am thinking Orange or White, I am undecided at the mo
