I thought I’d do a separate post for the Cinder cone build, my other thread was getting messy so I apologise in advance for any repeats. I wanted to do a retro mod build and that’s where this bike came in. Initially I thought this bike was too good and original to do that so I got a Hahanna...

Unfortunately in shipping it got damaged. We came to an agreement but still a shame. Another headache is that the drive side front brake pistons are sticky and don't move at all unless I hold the other pair back. Bled them which didn't help and now have some lube on order. If that fails it'll have to be new pistons and seals.

Now to the good.

Xt mech and cassette fitted. Changed the tyres to Rene herse (compass) 2.3 tyres, I have some 60mm Berthoud guards to fit. Waiting on a bigger 38t chainring and xtr chain. The bars and stem are temporary will I decide what I want to do, as is the saddle.

Will keep the chain set, wheels, headset and collar. The wheels are lovely hope xc titanium driver hubs. Will need to put the rear wheel on a truing stand as it has a hop and is out of true in two places.
