Disc brakes ?

The Pro Stop brakes were crap. They didn't have a big enough master cylinder to cool the fluid. and as a result they would lock up halfway down Mt. Tam and you would have to wait for them to cool to get moving again. The Hope's were cable operated and worked very well for the time.
 
Try them!.....they represent the biggest step forward in muddy wet bike riding ever for me....oodles of powerful one finger braking irrespective of conditions..... :D
 
Admittedly they do make a lot of sense on all terrain bikes, which in the UK means mud most of the time and that stuff really loves to eat rims, it is just a question of which is the hungriest, Shimano blocks or the mud between the blocks and the rim.

But it will have to wait, something for the future I think as in the cycling world I have a lot of catching up to do, not even had front suspension yet and spd's only recently.
