Hey, I'm wondering if you awesome folk can help me out? I always struggle getting the correct bolt and washer size for disc mounts. Am I correct in thinking the bolts are M6? But what lengths do I need to fit them to the frame and fit the calliper to the mount also what size washers do I need? I hope all this makes since!?

I will include a picture of the mount so hopefully you know what I'm on about!

Cheers Rob

For both the sides and top.

Can I borrow your big tub? On a serious note though, I'm using the mount in picture 160mm on the rear and a 180mm 'L' kinda shaped on on the front with Deore m615 brakes if that helps?

posted it for the nice piccy

bolts really really are as required per fit. Short between caliper and mount so the bolts dont go into the wheel spokes and as pictured when mounting to post mounts and so on. Washers are the same as found on v-brake pads. I even use the domed washers as per Avid to make caliper adjustments.

Re:

That would be M6 hex head, aka cap head, with regular washer.

Length varies according what is fitted to what and measured from the base of the bolt head.

For a through hole, e.g adapter brackeg you choose length so bolt is flush or may be a few mm short of the hole.

For blind hole e.g. post mount forks where you cannot see the other end, at least 1.5 bolt diameter so 9 mm.

Re:

On that adapter you have two of each. The ones at the ends are blind.

The middle two are through, you do not want bolt protruding past the adapter as it will interfer with the rotor.

You know, I'm just tempted to buy two new mounts, they come with two mounting bolts, then I'm just to work out the caliper to mount bolts.
