Saddle & 'Post:

Interestingly, the Brooks (a Swift with Titanium rails) was tensioned with a bolt that wouldn't have looked out of place in the engine room of the Titanic! Why bother to create titanium rails on a saddle and then tension it with the heaviest bolt in existence? It simply had to go and I machined a titanium bolt from an old X-Lite seatpost to fit. Just the job:

This got me thinking: What other bolts could I replace? I marvelled back in the day at the bolt kits that SRP and the like were offering at incredible prices. Anyway, I'm about 90% of the way through replacing every bolt with alloy or Ti.

Got one from eBay Stateside - offered the seller a 'Buy-it-Now' the moment it appeared. The other one came from Arrow Cycles - I emailed them on the off-chance they had one or two left after I was beaten on a pair by 'Baron von Z-Max' (just a joke!) They sold me their last one
