Did Raleigh UK ever make a 650B road bike?

I am curious as the only model I have seen is the North American market Portage that I believe was made in Japan, I would quite like one and even bought an old Royal with thoughts of converting it but there is not the tyre clearance for something a little wider.

What version of Royal, centre pull or canti? Wondering if a frame built for 700c and canti's would work with 650b..

Centre pull and I am using drum brakes the problem is tyre clearance.
