lol ^^^ I knew you'd come back when you saw it

I have to say the magura sticker is cool as well, but if you want to clean it up or get it repainted these might be of interest https://www.velocals.com/search.php?search_query=atac

alternatively Gil_M on this site (based in the UK) also does them

here's another on a Yeti (not mine)

I love people who really know their stuff!

Unfortunately because you used the word 'Carrera', certain factions of the site immediately assumed that something was going to be shit or of poor quality. These factions forget that at the time Carerra frames were made for Halfords by other companies such as Autostrada who made frames for Saracen and Harry Hall among others.

Despite the branding on the downtube, these frames represent good quality that some well known brands would often struggle to achieve. Those factions should get their head out of their posteriors now and again and look beyond their extremely narrow view of the world.

and there's the Yin to Regans Yang ^^^ :D

Re:

I'm sorry, I know the 'C' word can be a little inflammatory sometimes!
Carreras have always filled a nice little gap for me since I was 15 (38 now). The level of riding I did and the time and money I could afford to spend on it meant they were good for me.
And I don't mind the remarks! I think your skin needs to be a little thicker to use forums!
And he could have been quite right, the way I described it and without a pic would suggest that!
But thanks for everyone's help!

My first tidy mountain bike was a Carrera Krakatoa, I was extremely fond of it. At the time I really coveted the Quattro Comp GT with its Reynolds 501 tubing and full Deore XT.

Don't listen to LGF. He's an absolute ****.

Oh, and as Retro Spud advised, a new set of A•TAC stickers will do wonders for it.

Buy them from gil_m AKA retrodecals, the velocals ones are not quite the same as the OE decals. ;)

Good call, only problem is the paint has some quite severe chaiffing from a cable rubbing that's gone through the paint.

Will have a think on it and decide what I'm gonna do about it. Would be nice to keep it 'original' but no idea what original is now...
