Did Campy make long cage mech's back in the 70's?

I'm thinking about an upgrade of the mech's on my new acquisition (currently a Suntour Cyclone front and Shimano 500 long cage rear). Wondering if anyone BITD made high quality touring mechs or if I'm stuck with what I've got (I know I could get Cyclone GT to pair with the front to help with my need for the bits to match).

Yep, called the Rally......first gen were awful! Improved a bit with later jobbies but for some reason never got sorted until they went slant pantograph.

Buy something from Suntour :)

Maybe a Sachs-Huret Duopar Titanium? Always look pretty cool to
Me and the (non-titanium) Eco version I had for a short time seemed smooth.

I've used a 2nd generation Rally for 20 or so years - no problems. I also use a Suntour Cyclone (long cage), that's excellent too. The Huret needs to be used very carefully, they're not very robust.

You can convert a Nuovo Record derailleur with these: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Polished-Cam ... SwWxNYvJMl

Heres my Norman Fay with its Nuovo/ Rally mech - it was not on there for very long!
