I can't find any information on the site about this.

I'm sure someone must know some more about it.

If there was any way in which I could afford it I wouldn't hesitate for a second, but unfortunately that sort of amount is way beyond my means :(

1982 no. 1983 possibly. I had a DB Mean Streak from that era and it rode... well..... like a 1983 Diamond Back......Nice cruiser geometry early mass produced bike.....

Mass produced sounds positive.

Maybe I'll manage to find one going cheap.

Time to set up my 435th ebay search!

Looks like a 1982 model, if you need more info. the following link should help:

http://www.trek4fun.com/mountain_biking ... runner.htm

Good bit of info there,

I don't think its an 82 tho as....

The first production run had rack mounts at the base of the front fork and in the middle of the fork. The second production run only had brazeons on the bottom of the fork.

and I can't see any rack mounts in the middle of the fork*

But it is a nice example of an early mass produced MTB F&F even if its over priced (imho)

* Poor pictures + I need glasses

That info there says that the mass produced ones were tig welded, whereas the lugged ones were hand made.

Shame it doesn't have those original handlebars.

I need to stop looking at this!

It keeps drawing me back too... but I keep telling myself it to expensive*

I also just happen to have 99% of the components (sat about doing nothing) to build it.

Now you see my problem

*I think it is to expensive.... but that depends on how much you need something

I really like it, but yeah the price is off

It's one of those auctions where bidding could go crazy, but at such a lofty start it won't even sell I'll bet

Moving on!
