make sure its metallic. The solid post office red looks sporty on a newish car, but bleaches after a few years (you said you keep em till they drop)

Bit smaller than a Focus, but can highly recommend Skoda Fabia VRS - perfect blend of economy and performance (130bhp 1.9 TD puts a smile on your face AND achieves 50mpg+), VAG reliability, mostly good dealers/ service costs and value for money, low depreciation.
