OK, Google helps.

It is a Shimano UF Dura Ace semi-verical dropout. So nothing special, it has been chromed. But: why do my average derailleurs do not fit???

Edit: there have been even in the 70ies such dropouts, the Shimano NB-120: https://www.bikeforums.net/classic-vint ... 975-a.html

I'd have put money on it being French, better not do the lottery today then. Well you live and learn

Well.. I HAVE a steep learning curve this morning. It just does not solve my problem

Yep I know the feeling. Are you trying to source a long cage mech to go on it? If it's long cage and you want new then I can see your problem if the standard Shimano units won't fit.

Re:

Yeah thats right. I need a long cage but thats not the problem.. Or at least it has to be one which can handle 9 speeds and 32 teeth max. Lets see, probably I can get a long cage Sachs Aris. The short cage fits...

One other solution may be to fit a mech dropper, which then gets you to the right fitting and will incidentally also help with a big 32T sprocket.

Just fitted one of those to my 90's Cougar in order to run a 30 - 12 cassette.

Huret & Sachs rear mechs should be a straight on fit Some Simplex fit as is some require a 2 pronged washer Think but not sure Mavic rear mech will fit
