Found one!!

Started the build... i'll get some better pics tomorrow. My over-riding first impression is the amount of flex in the steel salsa stem. Combined with the steel bars it feels like too much. A swap back to the thomson may be the way forward.

ss's needs stiff cockpits for sure! go for the thomson with some syncross bars perhaps.

I think your right!

I'll keep the Nitto bars for now as they are a great shape, and see how it goes with the Thomson :?

A big success today was the Bottom bracket- I got the perfect chainline on the first attempt with a 107 axle and mounting the chainring in the 'middle ring' position on the cranks. :D

Also went for a Wipperman connex nickel plated 3/32 chain- seems like great quality.

I guess that is the one I use for my SS roadbike. It's virtually indestructible, stiff and easy to keep clean. good pick!

Im super curious. Somehow this build has really hit the spot for me. Matter of durability, quality and minimal style! Can't wait to see the results and hear about the first ride report!

Playing with set-ups today...
Its built apart from saddle and pedals, but i won't be showing any pics till its done..

Finished just in time for a rushed photo or two... i'll take some better ones later.

I wish SteveW could have seen how i've ressurected his old frame, i hope he would have approved :-(

A really nice understated build. It whispers quality to those who are smart enough to listen.

Thanks!! Praise indeed.

I couldn't help taking it for a spin on the way home. Its fast and very direct, and I was surprised by the cushy-ness of the ride. Good times ;-)

Have you seen 2 more different rigid mountain bikes??
