For Sale DeKerf Singlespeed, 1999-ish, £600

Retro Newbie
I've had this for 17 years now but late middle age and disintegrating discs (lumbar, not brake!) mean it's time to very reluctantly let it go. £600 buys it.

So it's a Dekerf Singlespeed in Reynolds 725. I believe these were made in small numbers 99-01, before the Solitaire was introduced, so it only has DeKerf badging and no model designation. I've also read that a run of 20 each in this chocolate brown and a Land Rover green was done for the UK market. The DEK1621 frame number would seem to tie up with a couple of other UK bikes in one of the two colours.

Believe that frame-only this was £695 new. This one is 17 inches C-C and 19.5in C-T. Spinner fork. Paint still pretty decent but the usual chips/marks consistent with use - most noticeable on top tube and driveside chain stay - have tried to photograph.

Other kit:

Surly 1x1 hubs, Mavic X517 rims, Tioga Factory XC tyres

Raceface Prodigy DH crank, Goldtec chainring, KMC chain, generic pedals. Haven't calculated the gearing but it's set up for pedalling up and coasting down!

XT brakes, XTR levers

Thomson Elite stem, Raceface Air Alloy risers

Truvativ XR seatpost, Charge Spoon saddle not included.

I'm based near Haywards Heath. Can post, or deliver within a reasonable distance.

Have spent lots of time riding on one of these frames…even same colour. Will check my frame no. for interest. Super inspiring bikes lots of fun formative times riding mine here n’there - mostly amongst trees😎✅🌲🌲🌲 GLWS

I had one of these back in the day - had it imported new as a frame from Canada and built it up with Pace rigid carbon forks and Hope brakes, etc - it was my only bike for a couple of years and I rode it in a few XC races - superb bike! GLWS!

Hi Ben,
Like you I am a newbie to Retrobike. A DeKerf single speed is something I have wished looked at buying for a while hence following your link.
I am very interested in buy the bike from you, however I live in Australia. Would you consider shipping the bike to Australia? If not I completely understand. If this is a possible option please let me know so we can discuss options.
I have a PayPal account or I could use Apple Pay, if that suits you better to make the payment.
I look forward to hearing back from you what ever you decide.
Cheers,
David
