Dekerf frame & TB P2's - Cheap! SOLD!

suburbanreuben

Old School Grand Master
Sadly up for sale is my '94 Dekerf. It's a size 18.5" with a 22" top tube, and is constructed from Ritchey Logic supertubing. I'm 6'1" and have always denied that this is actually just too small for me. Reality has struck, however, and due to recent surgery, I need something a lot taller at the font with nice bouncy forks and fat tyres.
So this is up for sale for the princely sum of £225, delivered, for frame and triple butted 415mm P2 forks.
It is a truly awesome comination. There is nothing- nothing- quicker through the twistys than this.
Why so cheap? Well , I bought this frame about a year ago, and on stripping it down discovered a couple of very nasty dents, resulting in a new top tube being fitted by Bob Jackson Cycles of Leeds. They also resprayed it in bright yellow and applied the incorrect decals. The decals claim it to be a Team SL, but it is not. BJ also refitted the cable stops in the wrong places, and weren't too tidy with their brazing. South London's finest frame builder described it as "a bit rough, but perfectly sound".
And so it is! Alignment is perfect, and the legendary ride is undiminished.
It has mainly been built up as a singlespeed, and only used on dry days. It has been treated with waxoil, and there is no evidence of internal rust
There are the odd cable rubs, pics of which later.

That looks like a right proper bike!
Did the toptube get replaced with Ritchey Logic as well? Any chance of a pic of just quite how rough 'rough' means?

No, it was replaced with 853. It was either that or 725, so I went with 853.
I'll get some pics of the "roughness up. The paint is too shiny to show it well though...

That rough don't look too rough to me, and yep, 853 was a good choice in my book.

I think realistically my eyes are bigger than my wallet so reluctantly I'll pass

Shame, as I'm local and could pick up - let me know if it doesn't shift...

Well if you fancy popping down the A3 to have a look , let me know. I'm just past Guildford.

Holy crap! I would love that, but just bought a pace...Dekerf is definitely on my Steel frame hit list :)

Great deal in my opinion, free bump and good luck with the sale, shouldn't hang around too long..
