Decent mtb suggestions

Evening folks, I've been out of the mtb world for a good few years and out of the loop as it were...I'm looking for recommendations for a decent mid range mtb, preferably 29/700c wheels, discs (cable are fine) front suspension only, 1 or 2 by is ok. A couple of years old is fine as I'll be looking for a good second hand one.

Up to around £300 ish but not looking for new, most of my miles are done on the road bike so the mtb will be for off road winter stuff to keep the legs turning.

Exactly what I bought in the end, bang on my budget and only used six times!
