I assume so......dont know tbh.
But i assume they must have to allow you to load the bearings on an ahead set up somehow.....so that would make sense.
Further assume it doesn't effect me as im keeping the threaded headset in place. So extender goes in.....tightens up like a normal quill ( having removed the right number of spacers to make it the right height)........ then pop on the ahead stem......
Its just if a syncros sigle bolt wil be able to crush the rings down as its not an "all round" clamp like a classic 2 bolt.......if not im then looking for a new stem too
