terry has quotes on most subjects, but his very best subject is death. if your new to the pratchett books. mort is a very good starting point.

Amen. Read them all many times, a refreshingly light hearted view of all things. Particularly relevant when you consider his current condition.

A worthy night of the realm.

...err wow. Being solidly anti-relgious and having a few death experiences I would say you are your own architect of your own existance and don't think about it too much, have a good belch to get it off your chest and ride your bike for a bit.

My mum died when I was a little lad.
Made me realise that you can't escape it, can't plan it and can't avoid it. Well.. not normally.

All you can do is face it head on and not be scared of it. Like a muppet I took 'head on' to mean taunt it.. which I do quite regularly in my line of work. Ah well. if youre not living on the edge, youre taking up too much room.

Maudlin stuff - doesn't have to be the end I guess. There's always Kylie to ease the pain

Amen.

I've lived with a time bomb ticking for the last 10 years now... Strange how it polarises your thoughts; you just want to get as much into your time as physically possible. Life is for living until it isn't.

A lot of these answers have made me laugh a lot :D and very good advice too from many people.

I guess like a lot of thoughts '' analysis is paralysis'' as they say. ie you can think yourself into a corner if you '' think, dwell to much on one thing'' for long enough.

I'm preparing myself by sleeping in a coffin.

I guess if I decide to be cremated I'll have to start sleeping in the fireplace.

My beliefs? There's something up/out there, not sure who or what it is, but I don't read into any religion, just the notion that if you tread reasonably carefully through life you'll be ok. I've also had too many things happen to me that would suggest there is something else beyond death to think that the lights just get turned out.
