I remember this article as I used to work for the O-Nine company (as a salesman) back then. Mountainbike Plus was a Dutch magazine and this was the O-Nine company owner's personal bike.

We plan a reunion with some of the guys from then later this spring so probably I can take some pics of the bike (he wrote me last week he still owns his 3 Deans from then).

It was without doubt the most beautiful bike I ever owned. The "eggplant"-like black/wine red colour was really amazing. But the frame wasn´t, it broke into 5 pieces in a descent. Every weld seam broke at the same time and all that was left were 5 aluminium tubes kept together by brake and shift cables.

The bike came in a Redline box, I believe. Is that possible? Weren´t that the guys building bmx bikes?

Race frames were a bit more fragile back then for sure.
