Dawes Super Galaxy - new!

Picked up this frame today. I've got no idea what to do with it, as I have zero road parts to work with.

The frame looks completely unused - there isn't a scratch on it and the covers are still on the cantilever mounts. It also comes with a exage chainset that has been fitted but never seen a chain.

Can anyone start be helping out with a rough age?

its a 531 Super Tourist frame, 1" steerer and has internal cable routing for the rear brakes.

I really fancy sticking a set of nitto bullmoose on one and some bigger tires tyres and tyers just to see how it could really bring the trails alive

Where did you find that in that condition?! Really cool.

Think they can take at least 38mm tyres.

Got it from an auction in Goole. I tried with 38mm last night, and there is a enough clearance, but not a chance with mud guards.

I need to spend a bit of time figuring out if its going to be too small before I start thinking about building it up.

It also came with a "free" Minoura RS5000 workstand - I think I'm happier with that - its much more sturdy than the one I'm using right now.

I have a similar stand and it's been a revelation compared to my old aldi one. Not least because you can have its 'back' to the wall due to the leg arrangement, way better in a tight workshop.
