Dawes Lady Galaxy Mixte 23”

Hi folks, ideally looking for a frame set, the type where the “cross tubes” go all the way back to the rear dropouts. I have a 21” but it’s a tad small so looking to just swop everything over not bothered about paint condition as long as it’s straight

As far as I can tell, Dawes tended not to use mixte frames (from looking at old catalogs in the archive) but more to the point you’ll struggle to get any women’s frame in 23” that hasn’t been custom built. I ride 23.5” and I’m 6ft. Dawes produced women’s frames in 19.5” and 21”, women are on average shorter than men. (There are exceptions - my youngest daughter is 5’ 11”)

FYI Gazelle produced some really nice Champion Mondial mixtes in larger sizes in the seventies and early eighties. These are two I have picked up over the years.

Thanks for that suggestion I’ll have a look around. The Dawes was the first choice only because I have a 21” as a doner and everything would swap straight over, probably have to splash out on new cables, Just like your top photo looking to build a roadster already have a nice pair of Ali north road bars to invert. Was also contemplating a 8spd Alfine Hub, not sue on that bit, got get the wife off her tank of a Pashley! Quite amusing with hindsight she said “really want one of those “ I said very heavy - bike now in garage I said “ you haven’t ridden your bike much recently “Too heavy “came the reply, I turned away, smiled but like any sensible married man , stayed silent
