Dirt Disciple
Does anyone know anything about these...? I can't seem to find anything on the intewebs about it. My gitane commuting bike cracked right through the down tube so I bought this to swap everything over! It was going to be a straight swap but I've bought these mudguards and I might as well give it a new paint job whilst its appart!
Its a nice frame with room for 38mm tyres with mudguards!

That will make a superb bike but from the pictures the paint in general does not look to bad, why not treat the problem areas as a full repaint will cost a lot and no guarantee to last.
If going down the repaint route then I would have the cantilever studs modified to increase the distance between them as bikes of this age had them closer than newer frames and v brakes will not work.
I do know that Shimano CX50 cantilevers fit without moving the studs and work really well. Maybe you more capable than me in adjusting and maintaining the older cantis with the post type shoes but I found them a real pain but did stop bike really well when properly set up.

Re:

It's half way through the painting process now so to late to move the canti studs! They should be fine though. They are a pain to adjust but I prefer canti's to v's.
I thought the paint was ok too when I bought it of of e bay but on close inspection it wasn't too great so it's had bare metal strip down.

Some progress has been made!

No spray cans here only brushes!
