Dawes Galaxy

The one, silent, mellifluous thought that's not allowed to enter your head...SPEND THE MONEY!
I once spent £250 to repair my secondhand Bob Telfer frame bought for £160 on this website BECAUSE IT WAS WORTH IT. Go to a frame builder, hand over the cash, get the seatpost out. The frame's worth it.*

*also. pop into s tardis and slap the tit who put the ungreased seatpost in in the first place.

Good advice.

My wife tells me I can be a stubborn bugger so I went back to it. The Caustic had thinned the post enough that I was able I hammer and twist it out with brute force and ignorance. There's still 6cm of post left down there but it's very thin and there's plenty of room for another post so I might just leave it, or would you recommend trying to get it all out?

Good stuff 👍
Feels good winning don't it!?
If it were me....and what's left in there is thin I'd go at it with another hit of acid.
Last thing you want is to build a lovely bike to keep....and a few years down the line after corrosion gets going again it splits the seat tube!

The one slight fly in the ointment is it's a 22.5 frame. I'm 5'9" with a 29" inside leg. Just put the forks and wheels on. The standover is a little bit er... snug.

Last of the seatpost is out. Now onto the build. 😁
