ha ha these people take life far too seriously,
What as in "vs. death"? Yeah, fairly seriously. Even yours steve, which is why people are so understandably frustrated that you're ignoring sound advice that will preserve yours and other people's.
To be honest, the "special olympics" comment is such a tired old meme that it's not worth taking offence over. In case anyone's wondering, the full quote is "Arguing on the internet is like running at the special olympics. Even if you win, you're still retarded." It's funnier (in a sick kind of way) when it's quoted correctly.
Just a quick thought steve. Assuming, because you don't have any foot retention and you're pushing 52-16, that you're limited to skip/skid stops, and generously assuming that you're able to do this ambidextrously, if your feet are in the wrong position when you spot a hazard you'll have to let your feet turn half a revolution before you can lock the wheel up to even start slowing down. At 52-16 and a tire diameter of 640mm, that's well over 3 metres before you can lock your wheel up. If you're not an ambidextrous skidder, it will be 6.5 metres. That's not even considering reaction time and the metres you'll have to skid afterwards before you actually stop. Of course many sources e.g.,
this one, suggest that you'd have to have some form of foot retention to attempt this at all.
