Dawes Edge - the sum of its parts

Yep @markoc people generally want parts, rarely whole bikes. I’ve tried selling both low and high end bikes and the majority have gone down the route of being split in order to sell.

For many the thrill is in the chase, and in many cases the most desirable bikes were sold as framesets with multiple groupset/build options, which of course would then have been customised to suit, so having a complete bike to sell, be it ‘factory correct’ or not, the appeal is still likely to be more limited than its appeal as a collection of must have parts.

Several of my collection are factory spec, but only two that I’ve acquired in recent years were found and purchased in that form, the rest had to be pulled together as a result of months/years of searching out the right components. So what @bikeworkshop is doing here is what keeps our hobby ticking for many.

Thank you fellow rb-ers.

I found that I had used RB for reference for a dozen years or more - frequently re: sizings, dates, compatibility, known issues, history...
- then it struck me that I love talking about bikes, and maybe I could bring some more humour and analysis to the fair.

I don't doubt I'll cause offence sometimes, but if you dont shake the tree, no fruit will fall.😉

Now I've bunged the tyres on ebay

Wildgripper tanwall - tbh id value them at £20 the pair in the shop, but old tyres seem to sell to nutty retro-ists for more than most parts compared to retail...

Good price for them tyres. They should sell. Great for a Euro build. In fact I've got a slow burner Eurobuild based on my first bike (tri-fluro MBK frameset) and Campagnolo groupset... 🧐🤔
