Dave Yates Vulcan---Built.

Re: Dave Yates Vulcan.

A nice pair of Ritchey tyres and a brown suede Turbo would look great :)

I can help with saddle and tyres if you wanted black wall Ritchey's.

Cheers for the help

Would black walls not look a little new and a little heavy for the build...?

I do have a brown leather Rolls which is branded "look" which as a brand fits the build spec, but i worry it looks a little gash...? (excuse the pun)

Re: Dave Yates Vulcan.

I have a Flite, Rolls/look-brown, re-issue turbo-black and white, original mint vintage turbo-black, Rolls original-black, the white Turbo special with gold nose and tail, A black perforated original Vetta Turbo..........but no Ritchey. :|

Tyres, i have Ground control extremes but really want to reserve these for a Roberts build, a pair of Timbuk 2s, repro Ritcheys, Fisher amberwalls, and period Tioga Mud dawgs NOS....., mint std groundcontrols would be good but my search continues, continental would be cool but have a lot of builds with them so might be nice to have a change.. :?

Re: Dave Yates Vulcan.

Can't go wrong with Timbuk 2's IMO Carl

I love them despite even reproductions being such a soft compound, but again are they not a little on the 80s when i need 90s.....?

help

Re: Dave Yates Vulcan.

True. Ground Control's are always a great choice but so hard to find these days. IMO Specialized really missed a trick not doing an extra run of tyres when they made the anniversary Stumpy. I guess Ritchey tyres are usually easier (by comparison) to find than some of the others.

Re:

That bar and stem looks amazing mate. Nice job.

Tyres - I would go with the Tiogas or the Timbuk II's. Do you have some Panaracer Harcore tyres?

Saddle - I would punt for the black turbo. I don't think brown would work with that paint. It would jar too much.m - IMHO!

Good work so far mate :)

I did run a set of amberwall specialized 1.5 back in the day, cant think of the name? was a fast tyre in dry dusty conditions, wore well, grippy yet svelte to look at on a frame, what were they called.?
