Dave Lloyd Frame Register

Re:

Thank you very much for the information.
I will find out how it handles in the near future, as I have not yet finished the rebuild. The last time I rode it was when I purchased it, back in the mid 90's, both rims were buckled and the tubs had seen better days. It was not the most enjoyable ride back home.
It was purchased to replace a 50's Holdsworth factory race frame, on which the steering geometery had been drastically altered by a wayward Rover. Even Argos, here in Bristol were unable to repair it.

Once again, thank you.
Cheers.

Greetings Neil, could you please advise what the book of Lloyd has to say about a Quantum 650, LL961282 (It's either that or 1232) , Deda Uno.

It's for sale in Australia at present, no it's not mine. Thanks again, regards Sean.

Re:

Sean, LL961282 is an 800TRI, it is made of Deda Zero and was originally made for Andrew Bursill. So, not a Q650 I'm afraid, but a nice looking bike never the less.

1232 is a standard road frame, so your first reading is right.

Re:

Thanks Neil. You're a man who knows what's what. What would be retail in the UK for a Concept 90 frameset in 753, 58 ish, if I could find one? From over here on the other side of the world it's pretty hard to gauge the market over there. Cheers.

Re:

There is a C90 on ebay around that size at the moment.

For a nice frame around £250, more or less depending on condition, how fancy pants the paint is, how much chrome and all that. Also if it does or does not have forks.

I have a really nice C90 and I may have paid £300 ish, I don't remember exactly. My Q650 which was frame only but complete with Royce BB and which is finished in exactly the same colour scheme as Dave's own bike at the time was I think £265.

I hope that helps.

Hi NeilM, I have a Dave Lloyd Concept 90 and have been trying to find out the frame number, I can just make out the numbers 97150 but the rest is illegible. I would appreciate it if you could help me. I see from your original post that your frame register lists the purchaser's name address etc. and as I am the original owner I guess the result will be spot on. The order date was 23 October '97 and at the time I lived in Chads Green, Wybunbury, Cheshire. Any information you can provide would be really great.
Thanks
Don White

Re:

Hi Don, only the frame number, frame type, original buyer and frame material are listed.

Your frame is LL971506, it is a C90 and it is made of Deda Zero.... there, that wasn't so hard now was it.

Very cool to be the original owner, I'd love to see some pictures.... cos we do luv a good pichur on RetroBiek.

Wow that was quick, thanks Neil. I have the bike partially stripped down at the moment for a thorough clean and polish, I'll post some picks in a couple of days when I have reassembled it.
Thanks again.
Don

Re:

The think that i always admire on Dave Llyod frame is the quality of the chrome , any mention of who did the chroming ?
