For Sale Dave LLoyd concept 90 frameset in 753 SOLD

half cog

Senior Retro Guru
Reluctant to sell this but its only ben ridden once this year and a couple of times last year so time to move it on.Offering the frame and forks with headset and colour matched bottle cage.Paintwork is immaculate with only three or four tiny touched in chips,Chrome to chainstay and dropouts is in factory fresh condition. It is built in reynolds 753. You have to be a reynolds approved builder to buy 753 tubing. You go on a course with reynolds to gain certification. There is no damage to the frame whatsoever and all threads are good. Reason its not been ridden is I am very much at the back end of life and my old ellis briggs is capable of more now than i am. Also not so bothered if it goes out in rhe bad weather. This has only been used in dry weather hence the condition.Offered as a frameset because I can use the other stuff rhat is on it. Should you want the whole bike then please contact me so something can be worked out. The top tube has a slight slope to it.Dave LLoyd was the first framebuilder to put sloping top tubes into road bikes. If you are not used to the sizing on sloping frames its the standover height and headtube length that are the critical measurements.
Measurements are
bb to top of top tube 20 1/2"
bb to top of seat tube extension 22 3/4"
top tube c/c 21 1/2"
head tube 6"
standover height at midpoint is app 31 1/2"
Wheelbase 39 1/4"
Looking for £200 plus carriage or could meet up in the harrogate area
Any questions then please get in touch. Thanks for reading

Would not be something silly. There are not many of these about in this condition so grab it before I change my mind and hang it on the wall to look at

Thank you for all the accolades but does anyone actually want to buy it.If it doesnt sell then I will keep it for sunny days. Its NOT going on e bay.I dont want some pratt to buy it and knock seven bells out of it.As said there are not many of these in this condition. It will be cared for as long as I have it. The problem is that thats not likely to be as long as i would like but hey ho.Thanks again for the replies

Would I be right in thinking this is probably equivalent to a 55cm frame (centre to centre)? Sorry, but I pretty much work in centimetres and not inches for about 20 years now 🤐😎🤣

Ignoring the slope it is app.51cm c/c 52cm c to top. Not so important with a sloping top tube as the frame simply raises up to the tall head tube (app 15cm.) Standover height at mid point is app 80 cm.If it was a flat top tube it would be a very small frame Means you have slightly more seat post out and a better stand over height. Also means you have higher bars if required Common to road bikes now but came from mountain biking originaly and Dave Lloyd was the first to see the advantages and applied them to his road frames.

This is a gorgeous frameset at a bargain price. 753 rides lovely and that paint job is simply amazing. As @half cog was saying with the tall head tube would suit us oldies as are bodies are not as compliant as they use to be and for me the sizing looks how most roads bikes are these today, except they are fugly carbon monstrosities and this a steel delight and a steal at that price!

Think it's too big for me (5' 7") but also my wife would kill me if a frame "appeared out of the blue!!!" 🤣
