Dating a Paris Galiber

Have been handed a Paris Galiber by my Dad, so want to try and date it. frame number is 1114.
Any ideas who I can contact?

Have a Google around. The Galibier model was introduced after the war - yours looks like an early serial number so you're looking around 1946 or so I'd guess.

There's a nice one in classic lightweights that's newer than yours - 1951 with a serial number in the 7000s

Is that a braze on for a front mech? Maybe a Condor built one?

Yes it is a braze on. Have just seen a similar bike on the 'retro bike of the month' section of retro bike.

Thats' got incredibly modern graphics on the Paris text for 1946, impressive.

Assumed it was old since it was his Dad's and it had seen a respray etc at some point...

Well I wouldn't be surprised knowing the French, look at Citroen, very futuristic.

Duh! Just read the Classic lightweights, only french in name That font features in the photo's from 1947 though.
