Re:

Righto, this is mine now. I've stripped it down and given the bits a good clean and a bit of oxalic acid to get rid of the rust.

However, I've noticed (didn't notice it when I picked it up, and I don't think the seller did!) that the frame is buggered. That crash has knocked the bottom bracket off centre by a fair bit so it's a bit bananad.

It would be lovely to build it up again as it was - bars and stem are 60s cinelli, so I don't think they're a later addition. Seems to be all original and in good nick.

Alternatively, I could stick it all on another 60s frame...

Looking at the details on this though, it really was a very decent frame at the time. The stays and lugwork are incredible!

I'm guessing close to £200 for a restoration. That's painting, welding and retracking. If that seat tube can be saved (and the dent pulled/filled) then it'll be less.

Worth it?

I think so, personally. I've strung it up to show the extent of knackeredness. I've had it sat between two blocks of wood today while I've jumped on it to attempt to get that bottom bracket back where it should be but I really should just ask someone who actually knows what they're doing/has a proper jig.

Trying to badge something using a vice and some 2x4 didn't do anything...

I kind of hope this is a Mercian build but wally green is possibly a bit rarer... Whatever it is, it's an incredibly well made frame that deserves more than being hung up in my workshop!

I know this is a crap photo but it sort of shows how Pringled it is.
Seat tube should fall right between those strings. It's about 2cm laterally out of true.
