Date for Orange P7

I have an Orange P7 (or at least part thereof, the frame had suffered a frontal impact so I’m rebuilding it with new tubes) but I’m not sure what age it is and the seattube size changed so I’d like to know for sure so I know whether it is 29.6 or a 29.8 that I need to clean more rust n stuff out of!

It’s the satin black frame, white graphics, sort of stencilly font.

Sliding dropouts and the plate the sliders bolt to bends out with the stays meeting the face of the bent part, stays are not slotted over flat plate (mate has a similar frame with this style).

The disc mount is integrated into the slider. Mate’s version has slotted disc mount on the frame.

Frame number is P707H0115 which might seem to suggest it’s a 2007.

I’m pretty sure it is a 2007 but best to check.

Ah right. Now home, just checked my old files. Mine was a 2007 to market but a 2006 build serial number. They modded the dropout with the extras bolt as they were slipping. I sold the frame on but got pics. The disk mount was on the frame on mine - same with the 2010 I replaced it with plus 3 bolt drop-off mount.

2010

I found with that era frame a bottle in the seat tube cage bottomed out on the down tube. On the 2010 version they moved the bosses back up.

Re:

The dropout to stay attachment on mine is as per the white one but the actual style of dropout is quite different.

Can see them in this photo, albeit the sliders aren't attached.

It's definitely not a 2010 or 2011 as it's a bigger seat tube with a shim for a 27.2 post. It had a shim and a 27.2 post in it when it came to me. The shim was a bit crusty so I wanted to replace it.

I presumed it was a 2007 so bought a 27.2 - 29.8 shim but with that its a super tight fit.

I've gotten it wet inside the seatube with soaking brazing flux off so there's a bit of rust build up, I'll try clean that back with my flappy sandpaper thing and see how the post and shim are. I' think I still have the original shim somewhere too so can always try that and see if it's better.

Aye - I'm sure it is a 2007 build, 2008 to market.

The 2007 catalogue shows the caliper mount on the frame rather than the removable dropout, like my old black one above.

2008 catalogue shows the mount on the removable dropout.

2009 catalogue shows same mount but bb now has ISCG mount

2010 (as white one above) has caliper mount back on frame along with a brace between NDS chain & seat stay plus increase to 3 bolt fixing for dropouts & the use of Reynolds 631 tubing.

I do - but only the P7 extract for 2010 on the link for the P7 2010 in my signature in on here (that I know of). They're difficult to scan but I'll photo the P7 pages & add them here.
