Damaged tooth on cassette-a worry?

I snagged a full xt 1x11 drive train recently and was giving it a clean in advance of fitting. It appears very low mileage, very little wear anywhere really aside from heed rub to the nds crank arm.

However I did find a tooth on the largest rear cog had some damage, not quite missing but only half there. Seems pretty clean, no jagged edges. Should I worry about it? Some chain rings have teeth like this by design, but I don't think this is the case here.

Never had an 11sp build before, can't really see myself on the 46t cog if I'm honest, but if I do, will it slip or cause issues for the chain?

picture?

it may be designed that way

look how many chainrings get wrongly scrapped because of shifting teeth looking broken or worn

Re:

If it's lost a tooth, which from my experience of seeing several wide ratio cassettes in the workshop, is likely; I wouldn't worry too much.
If it's bent and catching the chain when pedalling then file back the edges damaged tooth if necessary.

On a 46t there is so much chain wrapped around the cassette then there is minimal chance of slippage assuming the rest of the cassette and chain are in good condition.

Personally I really don't like how Shimano use soft alloy for the largest sprocket on their cassettes.
They wear out far too quickly and are susceptible to broken teeth.

Before you ask, SRAM cassettes aren't any better.

But yes, as already mentioned it could just be a profiled tooth to aid shifting.

Managed to grab a pic. Having looked at other shimano 11sp cassettes they seem to have a few short teeth. This only has the one.

Fitted anyway, will use until it wears out, plus I'm unlikely to really use the largest cog much anyway.

That's a broken tooth, it may just end up behaving as an out of sync pickup or drop ramp. Probably not a problem, just watch on the first few rides for it kicking the chain as you change on/off it. If no problem, enjoy the ride.

Are they individual sprockets or a spidered setup.

Cheers. I thought as much, it is nice and smooth though so nothing sharp or angular to damage the chain.

Sadly it is a spidered xt chainset. Largest 3, then a couple more are on alloy carriers.
