Dad's old bike from the 50s value?

Retro Newbie
Any thoughts on this old bike of my dad's, I suspect it dates back to the 1950s. He passed away and would like it to go to a good home at a fair price. I'd be interested to know it's value before declaring it for sale. It's located in the north East of England

Sun has some collectability, but unfortunately cosmetic condition is king, and the bike collectable market is depressed atm.

There are a few nice components on it, but again their condition is poor - hardly surprising as its over 60 years old. The stem might well be the standout piece.

You'd be better trying to find a good home for it rather than the top price🤞
It would be nice for someone to tidy it up best possible and use it, rather than strip it down and sell off the parts to maximise value.

It's definitely a bike with potential, but it would indeed be a 'project' bike. Price-wise I would probably say around the £100 mark, although I'm by no means a Sun expert, so I may be off a bit. I would like to think you'd get some interest on here if you posted it in the 'for sale - complete bikes' section of the forum. That will also make it much more likely to go to a good home. Good luck with the sale, anyway.

Good winter project for someone. As bikeworkshop said it has some nice components. Shame to break for parts. Blws
