Cyclocross help

Not sure where to put this so I'll try here!

I'm building a cross bike for a bit of springtime fun and know nothing about them. Anyone know any good resources for kit and info?

Forks are specific as they have canti mounts , use any MTB canti brakes, road gears , road wheels , cyclo cross tyres , and there you go .

Normal road wheels will take the pounding will they? Was toying with the idea of 32h M900 hubs spaced to 130mm and laced to 700c rims.

Also, bars.. same diameter as road bars (and hence use a road stem)?

yes , road wheels will take the abuse . I have seen cyclo cross bikes with Lightweight wheels . :? ( £1500 a pair I think ) .

you can find specific cyclo cross drop bars ( salsa do some ) , and you have to use a road stem .

Unless you go for oversized bars then you can used any oversized stem - road or MTB.
