Think I did mine in 1976 on a Dawes Kingpin Princess. I tried telling my dad it was a girl's bike but he just told me to be glad I had a bike at all. Only remember 2 bits of info from the old Polis Sergeant who instructed us. When signaling stick your hand out like your reaching for a fiver and make sure your brake blocks sit the thickness of a 10p from your rims when adjusting them. Brakes were so useless then it didn't really matter how far from the rims they were but I was six and he was a Polis man so it must be true
