anyone encounter such problem ??

the last i knwo had a prob was kid1313 fr poland..

the item was over S$300... so he had to pay a little tax.. of coz with a "invoice" from my lbs ;)

Isn't this a case of (as a poster mentions) that they've confused singapore dollars with american? Even still, 60 singapore dollars misinterpreted as american shouldn't incur this amount of penalty, unless the handling charge CK mentions was added too.

You shouldn't get any demand for that small amount of money.
Anything above £18 in value is liable for customs duty/VAT/handling fee from the carrier.

But the charge is obscenely high so there must be an error somewhere. Perhaps the seller entered a higher value on the customs slip? Either way you will have to pay the current fee and then make a claim :(

That may explain why I haven't received a charge for som P2's I recieved yesterday from the US. The seller put the value at $20 on the postage/customs label. Got stung for over £20 on a rear mech and the same amount on some cranks recently, both from the US.

Trevor.

Just paid £26.04 (£18.04 VAT & £8 Parcel Force cake fund) for my Funk frame to get through customs. Not as bad as I thought it might be, but I have no idea what the sender put on the customs chit.

the label with declared value should be on the box.
