Curtis SuperX 2001

Wow, yeah that's taken a beating! :O strong stuff those T45s! If Curtis have had it on a jig and looked it all over should be OK...
At the other end; my was-NOS 4130 MX24 below, I was getting tempted to sell under n-1 as it's a small side for me and I'm not going lairy on it at all unlike Jim, but the spec the frame is built to is just too good, and a bit of a classic already!

Very nice, forgot about Howies blue - looks amazing. Appreciate the pics of the frames on the walls as well.

I've finally started to assemble the Curtis using mostly spare parts I had lying around.

Some parts I plan to change are the Z1s swapped for Z1 QR20s when they're rebuilt and XC hubs changed for Bulbs. I'm also not sure on the chainring, chain guide, tyres and I may swap the tan saddle for a black one.

So far the build is:
Azonic Bars
Brand X stem
Marzocchi Z1s
D321s on Hope XCs
Hope M4s
Nokian Gazaloddis 2.3
Middlburn RS7
XT 9 speed rear Mech and Shifter
Nukeproof Pivotal Seatpost (new)
Mankind pivotal saddle (new)
Nukeproof grips (new)
FSA Orbit MX headset
Halo Skewers
Hope Seatpost clamp
29 - 27.2 post reducer (new)
E Thirteen chainguide
DMR chainring
Crank Bros BB

Did a bit more fettling today.

Put the correct rear wheel on it as I had a slight issue fitting it yesterday. I then remembered that the rear caliper will only fit a 160mm disc (why did I fit a 180mm to the hub!), luckily I had a 160mm spare. So now I have a working rear brake, but using the right hand leaver. I need to get an FS to IS adapter so I can fit the front brake and they'll be ready to connect to the correct levers and a bleed.

I changed the jockey wheels on the rear mech for some SunRace ones, quite impressed with the quality of these. The originals are still serviceable so will go in the spares drawer.

Other things left to do is fit the chain, get some hose guides and put the some pedals on.
