Do they crimp easily with the fitment of bar ends or is it just from over tightening :? is there a very fine line between the bar end slipping and the bar going pearshaped ? :?

Cheers,

depends on the bar. the titec 118 bar was exceptionally thin & needed inserts (BERTS) to stop the bar from being crushed.

Interesting as I was thinking of shrinking in some form of insert if it was going to be a problem :?

They are defo not that light - they are the bonty version and my crappy tesco value dial scale have them at 160 ish

I have some berts for Titec bars if you'd like them (karma).

on the crimping subject it depends which barends you use.

most Ti barends use a very wide clamp to prevent crimping your Ti bar.

You can see the bar thickness here :

The clamps are about twice as wide as the old onza aly bar ends I had. I have some kolo Ti bar ends and they have a similar 'wide' clamp :D

I'd still bung some BERTs in though.
Alternatively, you could use some Answer Hyperends or any other's with an internal expanding-wedge. I've got these on some 118's and they seem fine ...and the 118s are paper thin; you can bend them with your fingers.
