I have an old pair of wire cutters into which I've ground a pair of small notches opposite each other.

Works every time!

I use a crimping tool.

I've got a good ratcheted one as I use it for work but you can get a cheap one in Maplins or any electrical store for very little money.

I usually use a thin layer of silicone bath sealant... seals and stops fraying but is soft enough to pull off if you need to do a trailside fix.

Sure it's not a brake cable end you're using by mistake? That'll fall off!

Was looking forward to seeing them brazed on, over the kitchen sink, and the cable ends having been turned down from left-over concorde nose cones. Dont let standards slip now fella

Just bought some of those black ones for my Rock Lobster build. Look very nice
