Can anyone tell me what spokes these are? I took this photo in maybe 1994/5 and I can’t remember their name. 8088AB2C-0BA8-4EAF-B292-D89539C8B65A.jpeg

Was that the idea? Quite a few on the back wheel broke and I couldn’t get replacements so it ended up getting rebuilt with straight ones.

It would be the result from the curved spokes and also the bends are compromised for strength and break, as you found out.

After all, the hub is suspended from the rim at the top 🤷‍♂️

Hi, as mentioned, those spokes should offer more comfort.
They should be also more save against breakage. The add below says something like "with integrated breakage reserve".

To me Prym was maybe also the most common brand.

At least in Germany you still do get replacement spokes, just google for Prym Wellenspeichen:

I've a set of wheel with those spokes too, and do like them a lot. Just for the style, I'm not noticing any other advantages.
