Cracking stem - RaceFace Deus XC

Just found this crack/split in my RaceFace Deus XC stem. It's under 3 years old.
It's on the underside at the junction with the steerer. It looks to be full thickness as opposed to cosmetic.
From the location, shape and size, I'm thinking it's an over-tightening issue, rather than impact or fatigue. D'oh! :facepalm:
Worth checking yours?

I disagree that's from overtightening. It looks like a straightforward fatigue crack which started in the weld. Not your fault at all.

But it's a worrying thing to find, I've one of these stems!

I think they're forged, not welded. It could have been over-tightening, or fatigue, or perhaps a combination of the two. The hole inside looks rather rough, I imagine the crack propagated from there.

I don't feel so cack-handed now - it seems as a few folk have had the same problem.
