Covering Hi-Vis, what's the point?

Some hi-vis, however obscured, is better than none. But you could be a mobile Xmas tree, and it's guaranteed that if you are hit by a car they "didn't see you there, mate". Unlike self driving car AI, many human drivers just don't notice other road users except those in cars.
 
I also see lots of cyclists riding with saddle/bar bags that cover lights.
I cover my bike in high vis/reflective stickers.

This has been a game changer for my road night riding. It flashes and I've covered it in reflective leopard print. Cars can see me for miles and give me lots of space. 20231004_194838.jpg

I've always had a light on the back of my lid. It adds a second visual target, that's moving around. not as much use from the side as your Tron lid.
